Why Pick a Chartered Physiotherapist?

If you have had a sporting injury, Work injury, Repetitive strain injury, Back pain or other niggling pain/discomfort you often seek advice and treatment from a professional. So why should that professional be a physiotherapist?

To start physiotherapists are registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) a regulatory body that checks knowledge and requires proof of continued professional development and is the reason Physiotherapists can work in the NHS. On top of this Physiotherapists will often, like myself, be registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). This is another professional body that regulates members as well as links them to a vast knowledge base and allows me to become a Charted Physiotherapist.

With all these regulatory bodies it is important as a physiotherapist for us to keep up to date with new practice, treatments and techniques for conditions. This is by attending regular training, looking at articles and research as well as personal experiences.

So to answer the question why pick a physiotherapist, when you look at all the above we are not just keeping up to date randomly but are required to stay up to date, we have vast experience and resources to gleam information from for more challenging conditions and injuries. All this to enable us to treat patients effectively.

For further information visit the CSP.
